Mother Tongue Teacher in Romanian

The position is a fixed-term employment of 25 percent with immediate start and ending in June 2026. There may be a possibility for extension.

Your Mission

In the role of mother tongue teacher, you will teach primary and secondary school students whose mother tongue is Romanian. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the teaching based on the curriculum. You will use digital tools and adapt the teaching according to the students' needs, interests, and conditions. You will follow up, assess, grade, and document students' knowledge development. Additionally, attendance reporting, dialogue with guardians, and study guidance for newly arrived students may be included as needed.

As a teacher in the Mother Tongue Unit in Nacka, you will be mobile and have workplaces at several different schools in the municipality. You will manage and be responsible for your time and tasks. Remote or distance teaching is not applicable.

Your Experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• Teaching certification with subject competence as a mother tongue teacher in Romanian
• Romanian as your mother tongue
• Good knowledge and understanding of the values and knowledge perspective of the curriculum
• Good digital competence with experience in using digital pedagogical tools
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is meritorious if you also have:

• Knowledge of the syllabus in the subject of mother tongue
• Experience and knowledge in pedagogical planning, assessment, and grading
• Experience in teaching students and adapting teaching based on different ages and knowledge levels.

To succeed in the role of mother tongue teacher, it is important that you have both the interest and ability to collaborate, communicate, and create good relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and schools. You are clear and communicative, both in writing and verbally. You have the ability to independently plan and take responsibility for your time and tasks. Since teaching occurs outside of students' regular schedules and at different schools in the municipality, it is important that you are flexible. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

The Mother Tongue Unit in Nacka is a municipal unit belonging to the Sickla principal area. We work to maintain and develop multilingualism among children and youth. Our mission is to provide students with a different mother tongue than Swedish the best conditions to achieve their goals. Through teaching, students have the opportunity to develop their spoken and written language, which strengthens their confidence in their own language skills and provides tools to express themselves in various contexts and for different purposes.
